In an average week when all clinical staff are in, the maximum appointments we can provide due to our limited room space are 182 GP and 126 Advanced Nurse appointments a week. We also can only provide 181 Practice Nurse appointments.
The Nurse and Phlebotomy appointments are pre bookable up to 4 weeks in advance. Due to a shortage of GP appointments over the week we are currently not offering pre bookable GP appointments.
On the day appointments - First thing in the morning clinics are setup and those appointments are for On the day and are intended for patients who have an acute need to be seen that day. You will be offered an Advanced Nurse Practitioner appointment if your condition is a minor illness or injury.
When you contact the surgery either by phone or face to face the receptionist will request that we put a reason for your visit to the surgery. IF IT IS PERSONAL THE RECEPTION WILL ASK IF IT IS AND IF YOU REPLY YES THEN PERSONAL WILL BE ADDED TO THE APPOINTMENT SLOT AND NO FURTHER QUESTIONS WILL BE ASKED FOR THIS APPOINTMENT.
WHY DO WE DO THIS? - The reason behind this request for asking for a reason was that the GP's felt it was useful to have an idea as to why you were coming to see them so that they were aware before you walk into their consultation room which could save time. If a patient gives a specific reason to see a GP which could be dealt by another clinician it could save two visits.
We try to see you within 30mins of your appointment time and will give you an explanation if a delay does occur - for example if the doctor is called away on an emergency.
As time is very limited during a consultation we request that you only present one problem per consultation. If you need to present more than one problem please request a double appointment.
If there are no appointments left on the day you phone and you think you need urgent medical attention you maybe offered an emergency appointment. These are for conditions which if not treated today could develop into something far more serious and may even require hospital treatment.
Conditions such as sore throats, coughs, diarrhoea do not warrant emergency appointments.
If you are unable to make your appointment please let the surgery know asap so it can be allocated to someone else.

The Practice is registered with the Data Protection Act and will never release this information without your express permission. The Practice will only use this service to text you appointment reminders or health matters relating to you and will only email you with health matters relating to you. Any texts sent to you are recorded on your Clinical Record.
