Appointments

pregnant_lady_consultingEach doctor will have up to 7 daily appointments which can be booked up to 8 weeks in advance. The rest of the appointments will be released on the day - telephone after 08:30 for these.

The clinics are setup on a regular basis to allow future prebookable appointments but there maybe rare occassions that future months have not been setup. Please bear with us on these occassions and we will endeavour to catch up with the setting up of these clinics.

Nurse appointments can be booked up to 8 weeks in advance.

This appointment system is designed to cut down on patients who do not turn up for appointments made in advance

If you are unable to make your appointment please let the surgery know asap so it can be allocated to someone else.

We endeavour to see you within 30mins of your appoinment time and will give you an explanation if a delay does occur - for example if the doctor is called away on an emergency. We also endeavour to see sick children on the same day.

As time is very limited during a consultation we request that you only present one problem per consultation. If you need to present more than one problem please request a double appointment.

Emergency Appointments

If there are no appointments left on the day you phone and you think you need urgent medical attention you maybe offered an emergency appointment - this may be with our nurse practitioner These are for conditions which if not treated today could develop into something far more serious and may even require hospital treatment.

Conditions such as sore throats, coughs, diarrhoea do not warrant emergency appointments. Doctors are always working to full capacity and emergency appointments are treated as extras - please do not make an emergency appointment UNLESS IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY as it may cause other work to be delayed or cancelled.
